HEAD COACH ROB DONOVAN
Coach Rob began riding bicycles roughly 20 years ago. He saw Lance Armstrong win his first Tour de France and was immediately hooked. He bought his first bike and was in heaven! He joined a small team and began racing criteriums and time trials. He did this for a few years with limited success and then discovered mountain biking and cyclocross. He soon realized he loved all forms of bikes and training but his racing passion was in the dirt. Over time he would have real success finishing 1st at California Cyclocross (CX) Masters State Championship and Cross Country (XC) Nationals. Though he continues to race a full CX and XC schedule he is finding more joy in helping others achieve their goals.

Dear Prospective HRJC Academy Rider,

Thank you for applying to the 2021 Highlands Ranch Junior Cycling Academy. We are kicking off our inaugural year and are excited to bring to fruition a brand-new program, including one-on-one coaching, nutritional support, race & travel reimbursements, free kits and amazing sponsorship perks! Our program will cover disciplines: mountain and cyclocross.

Also new this year, something that differs from the traditional HRJC membership is an application process! We require the submission of two documents: a cover letter and a race resume. Your cover letter should include a brief bio of yourself (on and off the bike), what motivates you, goals you have and why you want to join the HRJC Academy. Your race resume should include your contact information and a summary of your results over the past few years. These results should include national championships, series championships and recent individual race results. Now is the time to brag about yourself!

If you are a brand-new racer with a lot of passion and feel you are a fit for the program but you do not have an established resume yet, do not let that discourage you. If you feel you have “the right stuff” make sure you apply!

Please indicate in the email and the subject line that you are applying for the “Highlands Ranch Junior Cycling Academy”

Please email your cover letter and race resume to robdonovancoaching@gmail.com
